Hi everyone, hope your all having a great weekend! I’ve had a jam packed day of fun and tasty eats.
I remembered that I hadn’t included my weigh-in in last nights post. I’ve lost 2 lbs since last week putting me at 9st13 (139lbs) so I was very happy that I’d made a dent in my holiday weight gain from the week before.
Today started with running fuel in the form of 9 Bar Original Organic and a handful of dates.
The 9 Bar was yummy, obviously it tasted just the same as normal with the only difference here being that it is organic. There was some interesting comments on 9 Bars and their fat content on yesterdays post. I’ll be covering this when I do my full review of the 9 Bars but have a look if this is something your interested in.
Still not over the moon with my times but as long as I’m averaging under 10 minutes a mile I’m happy.
I came home, stretched and foam rolled then made myself a Tutti Fruity smoothie with frozen banana, mango, blueberries and strawberries, vanilla whey, soya milk and two giant tablespoons of peanut butter. I topped with maple syrup and lots of cinnamon.
Holy yum! I had this bowl plus another half a bowl there was so much of it!
I got myself sorted and headed through to my parents house for my birthday tea party! I painted my nails this gorgeous pink and wore this primark floral dress and grey basic tee. I was going to post a pic of me in my outfit but the photos I took were crap!
We had a selection of lovely food:
Including some Marks and Spencer cupcakes!
Salad, couscous with roasted vegetables, wheat berries and couscous with roasted butternut squash, Mediterranean bread with feta, olives and peppers (amazing!), Mam’s home made quiche and coleslaw. I also had another plate with 2 more slices of bread, salad and couscous.
Desert was this lovely Raspberry and White Chocolate Cupcake with strawberries and a glass of Sparkling Raspberry and Pear Presse.
My two best friends came with their kids and my Mam, Dad, Sister, Brother in Law and Nephew were all there (the hubby had to work) and we had a great time. We spent the whole afternoon drinking tea and chatting, it was wonderful. I came home with a couple of bags of presents to open on my Birthday – I can’t wait!
Later this afternoon I snacked on an apple.
I also had another sneaky slice of the Mediterranean bread before I put what was left of the loaf in the freezer.
Dinner tonight was some turkey, hummus and cos lettuce wraps, a chopped carrot and some delicious sprouted pea and mint salad.
I also have this big bowl of strawberries and blueberries to graze on this evening.
What a fabulous day!
Are you a cupcake fan? Or is that a stupid question ;-) I really enjoyed my cupcake today, and the two cupcakes I had from the Hummingbird Bakery when I visited London. Do you prefer to make your own cupcakes or buy them from a shop or bakery? Does anyone have any good recipes for cupcakes that are a little healthier?
