Hi blog friends, can’t believe another Monday has rolled around again!

This morning I decided to try out one of my new cereals from Dorset Cereals: The Tasty Low Fat Flakes with freeze dried cherries, raspberries, apple and cranberries. I had a bowl with some strawberries and blueberries and kara coconut milk.

These cereal flakes come with pieces of dried cherries and berries and really reminded me of Special K. A 30g bowl is only 109 calories and 0.6g of fat (without milk). After a quick web search I think this has a much ‘cleaner’ ingredients list than Special K. I did start by weighing out 30g but there was no way that was going to be enough for me so the amount you see in the bowl (mixed with the fruit as well) is about 45g. I can’t remember the last time I had some cereal and this made a lovely tasty change.

As I was busy in a meeting all morning I needed a mid morning snack that I could easily keep in my bag and eat quickly during a break. I went with a little bag of delicious orange flavoured nakd raisins.

Lunch was leftovers of my Roast Aubergine and Tabboleh salad along with a couple of chopped kiwis.

A good hour before leaving work for the gym I tried one of my new Beet It Shots.

CIMG5949

Obviously it tasted of beetroot but not to the degree that I expected. It was very sweet too, but as its only a small amount it wasn’t sickly. I drank it un chilled and I think it would have tasted better had it been in the fridge. I headed to the gym after work and had a great workout – not sure if that’s down to the Beet Shot though! I did 50 minutes of HITTs including a 5 minute warm up on my usual cross trainer, step machine and bike. I even managed to increase my resistance levels on the step machine and did more of my ‘hard’ 30 second intervals on the bike. I finished with a couple of sets of abs exercises.

For dinner I put together a huge salad with little gem lettuce, carrot, red pepper, green pepper, spring onion, cucumber, beetroot and smoked almond and sesame tofu.

Still love this tofu in a big way, going to have to plan a trip to Waitrose to restock! For desert I made some vanilla matcha protein ‘ice cream’ having been inspired by Heathers Protein Ice Cream Recipe. I blended a scoop of vanilla whey with 1/4 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder, 1/2 teaspoon of xanthan gum some coconut milk and 3 big ice cubes. I ended up with a huge serving. I popped a few strawberries and blueberries in the bowl and it almost overflowed!

I have to say this is my new favourite thing, it tastes so indulgent and creamy with an almost marshmallow fluffiness and is really filling. It knocks my cravings and snackies right into touch.

Autumn Fashion Wish list

After sorting through my wardrobe yesterday I now have a better idea of new things I would like to buy when my Big Budget Challenge finishes at the end of the month:

1. A new coat

I would really like something with military detailing, these are my two current favourites:

7625744704_2_4_3 Camel Military Inspired Coat £99 from Zara

723155Green Hooded Military Inspired Coat £50 from Next

2. New boots

I would really like a pair of heeled lace up ankle boots and some plain flat knee high boots. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford both – I might have to wait until the sales for the knee high boots. image1xl

Black heeled boots £50 ASOS

736733Black leather knee high boots £60 Next

3. Knitware

I really fancy a crochet style jumper like this one:

Grey Knitted Pointelle Jumper £35 Topshop

Plus some Fairisle printed accessories like this hat and hand warmers:30330447363043047636

Beanie £14 and hand warmers £12 Warehouse

What’s on your wish list for Autumn? I’ll probably end up seeing loads more stuff as the season goes on but I think that a new coat and boots, along side all the stuff I bought in Brighton should see me more than well prepared for the coming season!

Eee! The Fairisle accessories are SO cute! For fall, I want some new slouchy, beanie hats, boots, and a cape. I’ve been seeing capes everywhere and I want! I just hope it doesn’t look ridiculous on me…we shall see.

I have to confess that xanthan gum weirds me out a bit. It makes everything look marshmallow like, and it reminds of the vermiscious knids from charlie and the great glass elevator for some reason! Totally random I know.. Does it make the texture of the food weird too??

I’m having to avert my eyes from the A/W fashion as I want, but can’t afford!

Your breakfast looks yummy. Ive got some cerals in the cupboard..might go back to it. This autumn/winter, I need some new shoes/boots. Really like the flat ones. Also need lots of new work clothes, meaning really warm clothes as the office is like a freezer during winter…not fun :( I also want to buy some skirts/dresses as I’m now more confident with my *new* body.

LOVE the next coat – so much, I think I might get it myself!

I have xantham gum in the cupboard but have never used it – not sure why, the idea weirds me out a little.

I also have an autumn/winter wishlist, but I have so many clothes to clear out first – I am thinking a clothes swap would be a good idea, if I can convince anyone else!!

I LOVE that Zara coat! Autumn is all about breaking out the boots for me!

Leashieloo – I don’t think I could pull off wearing a cape – I’m sure you’ll look fab though!

Neen – its frustrating as I have some boots just like the ones pictured but there too lose around the calves so I’m going to ebay them to help fund the new ones! If you check my post from last friday I explain all about the beet it shots – I’ll be doing a full review soon.

Alison, I don’t find that the texture changes it just says kind of smooth. I do try not to look at the slime that forms on the inside of the blender while I soak it before washing up, that might end up putting me off!

Hi Sammy – the cereal was delicious! I have a couple of the other cereals to try out as I’ve been sent them to review so watch this space!

Laura – glad you like my favourites!

Helene – good for you, clothes shopping was a major motivation for me losing weight – you go and treat yourself! I hate cold offices in winter, I need to add a big chunky cardy to that list so I can keep one at work.

JAG – glad you like the next coat! I can’t decide between that and the zara one, I’ll have to go and try them on. Interesting that the xanthan gum weirds a couple of you out, I’m trying to put any weirded out thoughts to the back of my mind as I find that protein ice cream too tasty!

Embrace Nutrition – I would love to have one of those swap parties they sound so much fun!

Madeline – I love my boots and coats for the new season, I just can’t decide what to get out of those two coats!

I would love a coat like that for winter. I got one last year come to think of it. I forgot about that. LOL

When I’m trying to lose weight, I always do that with my cereal. Measure out a bit over 1 serving and then bulk it up with fruit.

That Zara coat is beautiful. Looks far more expensive than its price tag. Fabulous taste lady!

I <3 Fairisle knits. Really does sum up this time of the year. The topshop jumper is really cute too, I love clothes in grey (possibly something to do with owning two white dogs!).

I’m still trying to gloss over Autumn/Winter fashion, despite having worn my winter scarf everyday since Sunday. This month I’ve got too much other stuff to buy so must stay blinkered until pay day on the 25th.

I’m going to look out for that Tofu in Waitrose, it sounds rather fabulous.

I don’t think my Waitrose carries that flvaour tofu bit it sounds great. I got the basil flavour and really liked it.

I really like the Next coat. The Zara one is nice but it doesn’t have a collar and I think that would feel strange to me. Also, the Next one is half the price of the Zara one! The jumper is also really nice. I love delicate tops.
