NYC Fashion and Beauty Buys

by Laura on May 12, 2011

Happy Thursday everyone, hope your having a good week! I thought I’d do a quick post to show you some of the gorgeous clothes and beauty products I picked up in NYC!

I had a look in several stores including Anthropologie (gorgeous, but beyond my budget), Gap, Urban Outfitters, Old Navy and Forever 21.

I absolutely love Old Navy and Forever 21 – I got lots of great buys from these stores:

P1050547 Floral blouse: Forever 21

P1050554 Floral dress: Forever 21

P1050542 Floral / tee shirt dress: Forever 21

P1050556 Navy bird print camisole: Forever 21

P1050536 Plain Grey Maxi T shirt dress: Forever 21

P1050540 Super skinny ankle length jeans: Old Navy

P1050551 Yellow camisole: Old Navy

P1050544 Floral and crochet infinity scarf: Urban Outfitters

P1050560 I <3 NYC Tee: Random touristy shop in Greenwich Village

P1050565 Bra, chunky ring, necklaces: All Forever 21

I was also on the look out for some beauty buys but I seem to have a good range of stuff already in my make up bag and wash bag and I didn’t want to spend more money for the sake of it (no matter how tempting!) I did treat myself to some of my favourite Korres products from their store in SoHo:

P1050512Bitter Almond Shower Gel and Body Milk, Lip gloss in raspberry: All Korres

I love the smell of this shower gel – just like marzipan! Good job I don’t mind smelling like a Christmas Cake ;-) I’m a big fan of Korres stuff as its mostly natural ingredients and gorgeous packaging.

Have you shopped in Old Navy or Forever 21 before? Have you tried any Korres products before?

Lovely buys! I especially like the UO scarf and the F21 jewellery.

If I went to NYC I would hit Sephora so hard! The Korres shower gel and lotion sound absolutely beautiful.

I really love all the stuff you bought from Forever 21. I’m never even heard of it … I’ll have to ask my friend who lives in NYC.

I LOVE OLD NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE
I get so many nice clothes from there whenever I go to the US- so many of my cardi’s and tops are from there :)
(they are the same company as GAP, which is why I like it I think- like gap but cheaper!).
I also love the Gap outlets in the US as they actually stock short length trousers, whereas over here they never have the short length ones.

Wow—so many great things! I don’t shop in forever 21, but I do go in old navy sometimes! I actually went in anthro today…waaaaay expensive! I tried on a couple things (with no intention to buy) and they were awful, so it made me feel better :)

I loved Old Navy the last time I was there (the first two times I was in NY I felt too fat to shop for clothes!) and I bought some of their bootcut chinos which are comfy enough to lounge around in at the weekend yet still smart enough to wear to work. I tried trousers on in GAP as well after someone recommended them to me but I just ended up getting the old navy ones in the end. I have short and stumpy legs, boo!!

I’ve only really gotten into Forever 21 since they opened a store in Dublin, about a 60 second dash from my office, so I have to be careful! They have lots of gorgeous stuff at the moment so I’m avoiding even walking through the place at the moment (not really a shortcut but I can go can go in on the ground floor and come out on the top floor and cut across to my office that way if I am so inclined…ahem). What I don’t know won’t hurt me!!

Never tried Korres, bit of a tightarse with regards to spending on beauty products really :(

Actually having looked at the ON website the trousers I have are “perfect khakis” not sure if that makes any difference but just for clarification purposes! Was actually looking to see how much it would cost to get stuff delivered internationally as they’ve only started that recently….urrr..might give that a miss kerching!
